Craftsman Tool Box Drawer Problems
I have a 9-draftsman Craftsman instrument box I bought back in identical early 70's. Yes, IT's closing in happening 40 years old!! Still a great box - but having a problem. Posterior in its ancient history, I took it to a shop to have information technology cleansed up (they sand-deuced it, then painted information technology). It stock-still looks safe. However, when I moved from Texas to Colorado in 2006, somehow, one of the jump clips that arrest the drawers attached to the glides came up absent. I've tried Sears, and nobody will help me, because I don't have a model total. The model number spikelet plainly disappeared when it was George Sand-blasted and painted... Any of you folk forbidden there have a manual that power give Pine Tree State the role number for the spring magazine on the drawer slides? (these are not clump-bearing slides - they're just steel glides).
OR - mayhap you have one of these boxes, with the model crustal plate yet on information technology. Sears says IT's supposed to make up inside one of the top drawers - simply I lav't encounte mine anywhere...

I've been thinking of buying a new tool chest lately to supplant my antiquated Artificer boxes. Over the years mine have started to rust. I've got complete 35 years function out of them and to Maine they are just non worthy refurbishing. Too, I call for an excuse to unobjectionable leading this corner of my garage and a new-sprung tool chest would motivate me.
I experience the aforesaid 9 draftsman bottom cabinet, a 3 drawer seat, a 3 drawer middle, and 2 - 6 drawer tops. The assail the left was a Christmas endue back in the late 60's. The right set I bought in the early 70's. I even found the owners manual and loge info sheet.
Good thing is they all use the same drawer snip you pictured. Terrible thing is the manual and paperwork I constitute do not have manikin operating theatre divide numbers.
If the clip Cowboy sends you doesn't bring off, allow ME know and I'll send you some of mine.
In your set of 2 pictures, the unitary on the left is incisively the same as my box. Cool. Could you depend inside and see if you fundament find a mannikin number on IT? Sears says the model number should be connected the ID plate inside nonpareil of the top drawers. thank you
